Matsuyama JALTからのお知（し）らせです。
　　
Matsuyama JALTは、全国（ぜんこく）語学（ごがく）教育（きょういく）学会（がっかい）（JALT）の松山支部（まつやましぶ）です。
愛媛県（えひめけん）を中心（ちゅうしん）に母語（ぼご）でないことばを使（つか）いこなすことや英語教育（えいごきょういく）（ELT）について研究（けんきゅう）していて、利益（りえき）を目的（もくてき）としない団体（だんたい）です。毎月（まいつき）セミナーやワークショップなどのイベントをしています。

◆テーマ：EFL【外国語（がいこくご）としての英語（えいご）】における心（こころ）の通（かよ）わせ方（かた）
文化（ぶんか）コミュニケーションでは心（こころ）の通（かよ）わせ方（かた）はとても大事（だいじ）だとされています。
講師（こうし）はまず、英語（えいご）の俳句（はいく）を読（よ）むことと心（こころ）の通（かよ）わせ方（かた）の関係（かんけい）を調（しら）べた研究（けんきゅう）を紹介（しょうかい）します。
日本（にほん）の医学生（いがくせい）が１学期（がっき）にわたり英語（えいご）の俳句（はいく）を研究（けんきゅう）をした結果（けっか）、心（こころ）の通（かよ）わせ方（かた）レベルがずいぶん上（あ）がったことがはっきりとわかりました。
次（つぎ）に、学生（がくせい）自身（じしん）の気持（きも）ちや他人（ほかのひと）の気持（きも）ちを気（き）づかせ、正（ただ）しい対応（たいおう）方法（ほうほう）を学（まな）ぶことで心（こころ）の通（かよ）わせ方（かた）を高（たか）める活動（かつどう）を紹介（しょうかい）します。
参加（さんか）する人（ひと）はこの発表（はっぴょう）を通（つう）じて、学生（がくせい）がより心（こころ）を通（かよ）わせるコミュニケーション能力（のうりょく）を身（み）につけるための方法（ほうほう）を学（まな）べます。

Matsuyama JALT is the Matsuyama Chapter of Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT). We are a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing knowledge and research in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and English Language Teaching (ELT), primarily within Ehime Prefecture. We host monthly events, including seminars and workshops.

◆Abstract: Empathy-Building in the EFL (English as a foreign language)
Classroom
Empathy is considered crucial to intercultural communication. The presenter will first describe a study that examined a link between reading English haiku and empathy.
This study found that reflecting upon English haiku over one semester led to a significant increase in the empathy levels of Japanese medical students.
Next, the presenter will introduce activities that aim to increase empathy by making students aware of their own feelings, the feelings of others, and how to respond appropriately. Participants will leave this presentation armed with activities to help their own students become more empathetic communicators.
